The automotive industry is working full steam on autonomous cars with two major goals in mind: • To enable fully automated driving (driverless car) • To make cars safer to reduce the number of traffic accidents A functional safety verification methodology and process for safety-critical IPs and SoCs is a mandatory requirement before they can be deployed in cars. ISO 26262 is an accepted standard used to ensure the functional safety in automotive systems. This presentation explains a holistic methodology that combines analytic practices with simulation flows to significantly reduce the safety verification effort and achieve faster product certification.
