44.3 - CCIX: A New Interconnect for the Post-Moore Era

10:30 AM–12:00 PM Jun 27, 2018 (America - Los Angeles)

Room 2008

With the slowing of Moore’s law system designers are increasingly looking for heterogeneous computing elements to continue to scale their performance needs as well as enable new use-cases. This new system design with tightly coupled CPUs, GPU, FPGAs and accelerators needs a new interconnect that allows a seamless data sharing model. CCIX: Cache Coherent Interconnect for Accelerators is an interconnect that leverages existing technologies to address this new data sharing model. This talk will introduce the main concepts of CCIX, key benefits as well as the current status of the specification.
