In the past Dynamic Voltage Drop (DVD) effect is model by additional margins during design timing closure. This is very expensive in terms of performance and power consumption if margins are pessimistic. There is need to define DVD Signoff with highest possible accuracy to minimize design risk, cost and high reliability. It is significantly important for Automotive High Performance Micro-controller design reliability. The proposed methodology is to measure the voltage drop impact and improve design performance without being significantly pessimistic with innovative timing violations fixing with passive element.
