Based on design property and switching activity scenarios, all designs have some toggles which are not necessary for correct functional behavior. Such toggles can be called redundant toggles. Power consumed by redundant toggles can be termed "Power Leaks". Proposed flow aims to find power leaks in a design by identifying, quantifying and qualifying redundant toggles using an automated flow. After briefly explaining the difference between traditional flow and proposed flow, redundant toggles are explained followed by methodology of the proposed flow. Results compare the turn-around time and power savings achieved through the proposed flow against traditional flow.
